The All-Electric Home, Reimagined
Cleaner, safer, and smarter technology tailored to the modern Canberra household.

Is Your Home Costing You More Than It Should?
Many Canberra households are still locked into expensive, inefficient gas infrastructure. Every day you use a gas heater or hot water system, you are paying for energy that is literally wasted through combustion.
The reality of gas in the home is becoming harder to ignore:
Your Path to a 100% Electric Home
The good news is that you do not have to make the switch all at once. SolarHub provides a tailored electrification roadmap designed to swap your old appliances for high-performance electric alternatives at a pace that suits your budget.
The All-Electric Upgrade Suite:
1
Solar and Battery Storage
Generate and store your own “free” fuel to power your entire home day and night.
2
Heat Pump Hot Water
Use ambient air to heat your water at 300% to 600% efficiency.
3
Reverse-Cycle Climate Control
One integrated system for whisper-quiet heating and cooling in any weather.
4
Induction Cooking and EV Charging
The final steps to a 100% gas-free, future-proof lifestyle.
The Benefits of Modern Electric Upgrades:
Why the Switch Makes Sense
When you compare modern electric technology to legacy gas systems, the evidence is clear. We have helped thousands of Canberra homeowners realise these results.
| Gas Legacy Systems | Modern All-Electric | |
| Running Costs | High and volatile | Low and predictable |
| Efficiency | ~75% (Energy is wasted) | Up to 600% (Energy is amplified) |
| Indoor Air Quality | Combustion byproducts | 100% clean and safe |
Maximising Your Savings
We make the transition affordable by helping you access every available pathway to ensure your investment starts paying for itself from day one. At Solarhub, we help you upgrade to more reliable, energy-efficient electric alternatives using the latest technology.
- Lower Running Costs: High-performance electric appliances are typically 3 to 6 times more efficient than their gas equivalents. This efficiency gap means that even as energy prices fluctuate, your household remains shielded from the high costs of burning fossil fuels.
- Superior Appliance Lifespan: Modern electric heat pumps and induction cooktops are built for longevity and safety. Without an open flame or combustion process, there is less wear and tear and a significantly reduced fire risk in your home.
- Total Energy Control: Going all-electric allows you to monitor and manage your entire home’s energy use through a single electricity bill. When you are ready to add solar or a battery, your home is already “wired for success,” allowing you to eventually reach net-zero running costs.
“We have used SolarHub since March of 2017, for roof top solar, a heat pump, a battery and conversion from gas heating and evaporative cooling to air conditioning. All work has been very professional and they have a very cautious manner, listening to the client and then suggesting the best solution.”
Your Electrification Incentives
Navigating government rebates and industry discounts can be complex. To help you move towards a net-zero home, we have compiled the current savings available for each electrification solution in the ACT.
Solar and Battery Storage
- Cheaper Homes Battery Rebate: You may be eligible for a significant upfront discount on a solar battery system. This federal incentive provides approximately $311 per usable kWh of capacity, which can reduce the cost of a battery significantly.
- STC Rebates: When you install rooftop solar, you are eligible for Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs). This federal incentive acts as an upfront discount on the total cost of your system. At SolarHub, we apply this discount directly to your quote so you only pay the remaining balance.
Reverse-Cycle Heating and Cooling
- Ducted System Upgrades: Replace your gas ducted heating with an electric ducted air conditioner and receive a $2,500 upfront discount. You will also receive a $500 bill credit spread over three years.
- Split System Upgrades: Replace a flued gas heater with an electric split air conditioner and receive a $1,250 upfront discount plus a $500 bill credit over three years.
- Concession Card Holders: You may be eligible for even greater support, including up to $5,000 off a ducted installation and a $1,000 bill credit.
Reverse-Cycle Heating and Cooling
- ActewAGL Partnership Discount: Through our exclusive partnership, you can receive a $500 discount on your heat pump installation.
- Ongoing Bill Credits: In addition to the upfront discount, you will receive a $250 credit on your ActewAGL energy bill for each of the following three years, totalling $750 in additional savings.
