Solar and battery for homes between the escarpment and the sea.
SolarHub’s Unanderra team installs, repairs and services solar and battery systems for homes across Wollongong, Kiama, Shellharbour and the Southern Highlands.
Our local team
Based in Unanderra, working right along the coast.
SolarHub’s Wollongong office sits in Unanderra, at the foot of the escarpment. Our local team designs, installs and services solar and battery systems for homes throughout the Illawarra, and we keep existing systems running whether we installed them or not.
The Illawarra sits on the Endeavour Energy network. Endeavour sets its own rules for how much solar you can export and how a battery gets connected, and those rules differ from Sydney’s other distributors. We handle that paperwork as part of every quote, so it’s not something you need to chase up separately.
We’re an approved seller under the New Energy Tech Consumer Code. Our team holds Tesla Powerwall Premium Installer accreditation across the whole business, not just in one office.
What we do here
New systems, and the ones already on your roof.
Whether you’re installing your first system or keeping an existing one running, our Wollongong team handles it locally. Most jobs are booked in within the same week.

Rebates and incentives
What's currently on offer in the Illawarra.
Every quote we produce sets out exactly which of these applies to your system.
Home electrification
Air conditioning and EV charging
Once solar’s on the roof, air conditioning and EV charging are the two upgrades that use that generation every day, not only when the sun’s at its strongest.
EV charging
Home EV charger installation that draws from your own solar generation first. Mobile scheduling lets you set the charger to draw from the grid at off-peak rates if there isn’t enough sun left in the day.
Air conditioning
Split-system and ducted installation, sized to your home and paired with your solar. A split system is usually a single day’s work. A ducted system takes one to two days depending on the size and layout of the house. We also repair and service existing systems.
Frequently asked questions
Questions we hear all the time, from homeowners and people just starting to explore solar.
What suburbs does SolarHub's Wollongong team cover?
Our Unanderra office covers Wollongong and surrounding suburbs including Figtree, Corrimal and Warrawong, along with the wider Kiama, Shellharbour and Southern Highlands region.
Does SolarHub repair solar batteries in Wollongong?
Yes. We service and repair solar batteries locally, including performance issues and faults. It doesn’t matter whether the system was originally installed by us or by someone else.
What's the best solar battery for a Wollongong home?
It depends on the goal. Sigenergy’s SigenStor is our first pick for whole-home backup. The Tesla Powerwall 3 suits homes wanting tight integration with a Tesla vehicle or app. The Fronius Reserva is a strong budget option that qualifies for the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program.
How long does installation take?
A standard solar installation is typically completed in a single day. Battery additions can be done at the same time, or separately in about half a day.
Can you service a system installed by another company?
Yes. We offer solar health checks, fault diagnosis and ongoing support for systems we’ve installed, and for systems installed by others across Wollongong and the Illawarra.
